Chapter 2 :
"Did you hear? Randy, that new guy, his a child prodigy! Rich, not to mention, he graduated two years ago!" Rachel overheard the whispers of gossip as groups of girls giggled.
'Heck, he's even a child prodigy? What the hell.' Rachel thought to herself.
"Shit. I'm late for class. It's all that baka Randy's fault. what child prodigy? Pftt. Why is he even attending college anyway when he has already graduated?!
Sigh. Not to mention, I'm gonna be scolded by the dorm headmistress again, staying up the whole night yesterday surfing the internet." Rachel cursed out.
There was no doubt about it-- Rachel Wu hated Randy.

"So, what do you think about Randy, Rach?"
Rachel looked up, startled. Then her expression quickly changed back to one of contempt and loathing.
"What do I think of Rowdy Randy? Well, he's a show off, for one. He's already graduated, he's a genius, why's he here? To make the rest of us look stupid? If I could, I would get rid of Mr. Pretty Boy." Rachel muttered darkly, stabbing viciously at her steak.
Little did she know that Randy Liu was listening to their conversation from where he was sitting.
Surrounding him were the muscular jocks and the cheerleaders, their tops were cut so low that little was left to the imagination.
But he wasn't interested in them. The jocks were idiotic beefy guys without brains while the cheerleaders... He wasn't really interested.
What he was interested in was Rachel Wu.
So when Rachel glared at Randy, she saw hurt in his eyes.
He's upset... Rachel murmured mentally. That's good... In fact, that's freaking awesome!
She smiled smugly and stalked out of the cafeteria, smirking at Randy.
Heck, he deserved it.
Unknown to her, Randy had followed her. She went into an 'empty' classroom and took out a stack of finished homework, selling them to those who needed it, while tutoring her juniors who needed a boost of grades.
Smiling happily and feeling carefree, Rachel turned towards a teacher who had entered, offering help. She had a good reputation amongst the teachers, and because she was the smartest in the school, she was frequently asked to set the questions for the
exams, thus gaining access to the questions. To be truthful, majority of the teachers, and even the principal knew of her motive, and her house situation, with her family in debt, being pursued by loan sharks because of her late father who loved gambling and had borrowed from loansharks to keep on gambling.
Nope, he hadn’t even thought about his wife and Rachel, his only kid, often beating them up when the loansharks came and he didn’t have any money when he was alive.
To hell with him, Rachel thought darkly.
"I got to get home now, sorry Miss Tay, bye!" Rachel said, her sling bag slung over her shoulders as Randy hid, observing her. Her shoulders were slumped, losing her usual perfect upright pose as she did a calculation of how much of her money was
going to be used for this month's installment. The loansharks had been pressing her and her mother for payment for quite a long time now.
In frustration, Rachel sighed. Her picture perfect smile turned upside down, just as she was cornered by the loansharks. What now? Her mother's health condition had already been deteriorating in the past few days.
"Where's the installment? If we were to count interest, you still own us 20 thousand in total."
She muttered a string of inaudible profanities, groaning as she replied.
"Sorry..I don't have this month's yet..only two thousand with me right now." she handed them the money as they snickered, shoving her onto the ground before leaving.
Randy looked around, relieved that no one was around, he appeared from the wall and walked towards Rachel. He stuck out a hand, indicating for her to grab onto it and stand up. Rachel glared at it as if trying to burn a hole into it with her eyes. Suddenly,
Rachel pulled him downwards and he ended up falling ontop of her. Randy smirked, in a cocky attitude he enquired. "Woah, did you have to do that? unless.. you like me that much."
Rachel simply glared at him and pushed him off herself. Recalling what had happened, she blushed a deep shade of red while taking a step back. How did that happen? How could her calculations go wrong? She was supposed to stand up while he fell
flat on his face on the ground according to her calculations.
She ran off, wiping her lips as the memory replayed over and over. He had stolen her first kiss.
Meanwhile, on Randy's side, Randy touched his lip. Lingering on it. He had kissed her and she hadn’t done anything.
Maybe she does feel something for me, Randy thought, smiling dorkily as he watched her silhouette fade into the distance.
